James address a lot of issues - social justice, suffering, care for the vulnerable. But he isn't just making a check list of "to-dos." Foundational to those expressions of our faith is the passion for the Kingdom of God. And what greater marker of passion is there than the way we manage money? After all, Jesus said our hearts would be revealed by where we store our treasure - here and now, or in the Kingdom that is to come. And James repeats this same message.
