In 2014 the Holy Spirit placed a burden in Harbour's lead pastor, Jeff Bennett, that Harbour should start preparing to plant a daughter church. Initially, he kept this to himself for six months, praying regularly for wisdom and clarity. After six months he shared this vision with the Elders at Harbour, who felt immediate unanimity that this was God's leading. Together, the leadership team prayed for another six months that God would provide wisdom and resources to see this passion come to life.
one year, a formal vision plan was developed by the leadership
team, and shared the the church family. The church family
immediately resonated with the vision, adopted it, and began
to pray corporately for the opportunity to plant a church.
initial Study Team was appointed to research the ministry
options. They determined the best target area was in far west
Niagara/east Stoney Creek (the QEW and Fifty Road area).
In 2017 Graham and Sharon Bulmer were asked to consider leading this new church plant effort. After several months of prayer and discussion, they felt God was giving them a new passion to see this church planted. The name "Q50 Community," reflecting the location of the QEW and Fifty Road intersection, was adopted. On January 1, 2018, the Bulmers officially began pastoring the group which would form the core of this new church. On September 9, 2018, Harbour officially launched the Q50 Community Church.
